About Catalysts

Catalysts is an agile software-development company based in Austria. We do take agile principles and practices seriously – being the only Austrian corporate member of the AgileAlliance. Our focus is on complex custom projects with world market leaders where scalability, big data, high availability, high throughput, etc. are important. You may know some of our customers:
Porsche, European Space Agency, Intel, EasyJet, Deutsche Bahn, Palfinger, etc. We are a diverse team of 75 people (from Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Spain), steadily growing, collaborating with teams in Nepal and Belarus. We’re hiring people in Austria and in Romania – full time or part time – and we provide internships.

Previous contests

It all started in 2007 with the academic questions „Is TDD faster?” and „Is Pair Programming faster?”.
We’ve organized onsite contests each year since then.
Since 2009 one can participate remotely via the Internet as well.
Since 2010, we have 3 onsite contests per year, each with 12,000 Euro prize money.
In 2011 we organized the 1st Catalysts’ Coding Contest in Cluj.
In 2011, we had 150 – 200 participants per contest (pupils, students and practitioners).
In April 2012, we organized the 2nd Catalysts’ Coding Contest in Cluj with 50 participants.
