Your future in computer science

This year, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science was included by Google in the group of selected universities that are actively involved in society. Google has entrusted our faculty with the task of getting involved in society and offering exceptional young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship in Computer Science. The faculty is participating in this project with its teaching staff and their expertise in the field of artificial intelligence. In this project, high school students from disadvantaged groups will be selected, and the faculty will provide them with the necessary support to develop ML skills and start a career in computer science. The project includes a sequence of five workshops, rounded off by a hackathon in which pupils work together with students and teachers from our faculty. Through Google’s explore CSR initiative, the organization will provide Google students with learning resources and access to excellent mentors and professionals within the company.

The opening of the program and the first workshop will take place on November 18, 2023, at 9.30 a.m. in the main building of UBB. Through this project, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, together with the company Google, is actively engaging with society and supporting pupils with potential.
