2019 tavaszán került sor a magyar felsőoktatás hagyományosan legnagyobb, kétévente lebonyolításra kerülő hallgatói tudományos seregszemléjére, a XXXIV. Országos Tudományos Diákköri Konferenciára. A XXXIV. OTDK Informatika Tudományi Szekciójának az Óbudai Egyetem Neumann János Informatikai Kara adott otthont 2019. április 16. és 18. között, ahol a BBTE Matematika és Informatika Karát három hallgató képviselte. Dobogós helyen a Matematika és Informatika Kar hallgatói a South Eastern European Mathematical Olympiad for University Students (SEEMOUS 2019) versenyen
2019. március 12. és 17. között a Bulgáriai Devinben zajlott a XIII. Délkelet-európai Nemzetközi Matematikai Diákolimpia (SEEMOUS 2019). Ezen a hagyományos nemzetközi versenyen Délkelet-Európa legjobb matematikus hallgatói mérhetik össze tudásukat évente. Idén 83 hallgató vett részt Bulgária, Görögország, Észak Macedónia, Románia és Türkmenisztán 20 egyeteméről. A Babeș–Bolyai Tudományegyetem Matematika és Informatika Karát három hallgató képviselte:

A Babeș–Bolyai Tudományegyetem idén is meghirdeti a BBTE diáktáborok versenyét, amelynek keretében a kiváló tanulmányi eredményekkel rendelkező hallgatók ingyenesen vehetnek részt a Hunyad megyei Nagybár gyakorlati és szabadidőközpontban sorra kerülő nyári táborban, 2019. július 22. és 27. között. A Pallas Athéné Domus Educationis (PADE) alapítványtól kapott pályázati támogatásból a Babeș–Bolyai Tudományegyetem megjutalmazta a BBTE Matek-Infó versenyen jó eredményeket elért középiskolás diákokat, akik matematikából az első 12 helyen szerepeltek (magyar tagozat).
