Completion of study contracts for the academic year 2024/2025

Students from the first and second years on the bachelor’s level and the first year on the master’s level (academic year 2023/2024) are required to complete the Study Contract in the AcademicInfo application between May 1 and 31, 2024.

The list of optional courses and educational plans is available at: https://www.cs.ubbcluj.ro/planuri-de-invatamant-valabile-in-anul-universitar-2024-2025/.

Students can consult the syllabi available at: https://www.cs.ubbcluj.ro/fisele-disciplinelor-din-planul-de-invatamant-2024-2025/.

The students will complete the contracts according to the following calendar:

  1. Between May 1 and May 19, 2024, the study contract for the academic year 2024/2025 is completed in the ACADEMIC INFO application at https://academicinfo.ubbcluj.ro/.
  2. When completing the optional courses, please observe the following specifications:
    • Students have the opportunity, throughout the duration of their studies, to choose at most one optional subject from other specializations of the faculties of Babeș-Bolyai University or from the specializations of the faculty, respecting the conditions of the educational plans of the respective specializations and the number of credits allocated. The credits allocated for these subjects are equivalent to those fixed for the optional subjects they replace, provided that the number of credits of the chosen subject is greater than or equal to the number of credits of the optional subject it replaces.
    • The students of our faculty can choose from the faculty’s range of compulsory subjects, provided that the compulsory subject they choose as an optional course is not found with the same subject code and name in the curriculum of the study program in which the student is enrolled.
    • Compulsory subjects can replace an optional course, provided that the number of students opting for that subject does not exceed a maximum of 15 students/year of study. If that is the case and the number of those who opted is higher, the first 15 students will be taken in the order of registration, and the rest of the students are obliged to opt for another discipline.
    • In the case of compulsory subjects that students opt for as optional courses, the credits allocated for these subjects are equivalent to those fixed for the optional subjects that they replace, provided that the number of credits of the chosen subject is greater than or equal to the number of credits of the optional subject it replaces.
  3. The faculty management will establish the optional courses for the academic year 2024/2025 on May 21, 2024.
  4. On May 22, 2024, all optional courses that will not be regularized in the 2024/2025 academic year will be deleted from the faculty secretariat. On May 22, 2024, after 4:00 p.m., the final list of optional courses will be displayed on the faculty website in the section https://www.cs.ubbcluj.ro/planuri-de-invatamant-valabile-in-anul-university-2024-2025/. Please consult the list.
  5. Students who have changed their list of optional courses or selected non-regularized subjects will rewrite their study contracts between May 22 and May 31, 2024, to ensure correct completion.

If, after the first stage, an optional course does not have enough enrolled students, then this course is deleted from the offer, and the students who chose it will have to choose another optional course in stage 2.

Additionally, since each course has a maximum number of enrolled students, it’s best to choose your optional courses as early as possible.

We strongly advise students to select optional courses from our faculty’s offerings during the current semester, as other faculties may not adjust their schedules to accommodate our students, potentially preventing them from participating in the offered courses and seminars. We also recommend that students in their last year of study not substitute optional courses in the last semester of their terminal year with courses from lower years. The last semester of the terminal year has a structure of 12 weeks, while the lower years have a structure of 14 weeks. Additionally, the examination sessions for lower-year students differ from those for last-year students.

Students should contact their group tutors if they have any questions or ambiguities. The list of tutors is available at: https://www.cs.ubbcluj.ro/studenti/tutoriat/lista-tutorilor/.
