Aims
At the completion of this project, the student should:
- have documentation abilities on an established topic
- be able to write a document on an established topic and with a pre-defined structure (dissertation)
- analysis, synthesis and critical skills
- be able to develop a software system on a given topic (domain).
Content
Project activities in both semesters are individual activities performed by each student as part of the preparation of its/hers dissertation thesis.
From a structural viewpoint, a dissertation will have three parts:
- theoretical study
- experimental study
- software system.
In the second term, the goal of project activities are to continue and finalize the work for the dissertation thesis.
They are:
1. Biblioraphical references concerning the experimental study and the first version of the experimental study - week 3
2. Setting requirements for software system + analysis stage (including relevant documentation) - week 5
3. Intermediate versions of the theoretical and experimental parts - week 7
4. Final version of theoretical and experimental parts - week 8
5. Design of the application and design documentation - week 9
6. Implementation, testing and documentation of the application - week 12

Assessment
Each of the activities above has a due date and a corresponding mark, on a 10-point scale. A penalty of 1pt per week are considered for delays. The weights are as follows:
1. experimental part v1 20%
2. requirements + analysis 10%
3. theoretical and experimental part, v2 10%
4. theoretical and experimental part, final 20%
5. application design 20%
6. implementation, testing and documentation of application 20%
The final grade is computed as an weighted average of the marks for individual activities.
