Administrative procedure concerning the enrollment of applicants (admission to the master’s program 2022)

  • For the master's specializations in the field of Mathematics, applicants who have obtained a degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics, in the specializations of Economic Cybernetics, Statistics, Economic Forecasting, or Business Informatics within the Department of Economics, in the specializations of Computer and Information Technology (specializations related to the Department of Mathematics) are admitted without an assessment test. For the master's program, Modern Methods in Teaching Mathematics, teachers from the field and graduates of postgraduate professional conversion programs in the field of Mathematics, are also admitted.
  • For the master's specializations in the field of Computer Science, candidates who have obtained a degree in the specialization of Computer Mathematics, in the field of Computer Science, in Business Cybernetics or Business Informatics within the Department of Economics, in the specializations of Computer and Information Technology (specializations related to the field of Computer Science) are admitted without an assessment test. Graduates of the postgraduate education and training programs organized by our faculty are also admitted.
  • For the master's specializations in the field of Education, candidates who have completed a specialization in the field of Mathematics for the master's program Didactic Master's Degree in Mathematics, or in the field of Computer Science, Computer Mathematics (4 years) or Business Informatics (4 years) for the master's program Didactic Master's Degree in Computer Science, are admitted without an assessment test. Teachers from the field and graduates of postgraduate professional conversion programs in Mathematics and Computer Science can apply.
  • Graduates of postgraduate education and training programs participate in the selection process as follows: 75% overall average grade of the years of study of the postgraduate program and 25% grade on the professional skills certification examination of the same program.
  • A candidate who has not completed any of the above specializations shall take an oral assessment test with the physical presence of the candidate from the subject of the bachelor's examination from the field of Mathematics (for specializations in Mathematics), from the subject of the bachelor's examination from the field of Computer Science (for specializations in Computer Science, except for the specialization Data Science for Industry and Society), or a particular subject (for the specialization Data Science for Industry and Society). The minimum grade for passing the assessment test is 6.00 (six). For master's programs organized in a native or foreign language, the subject examination is taken in the language of the program. If applicants choose more than one option, they take the subject examination in the language of instruction corresponding to the option chosen first.
  • For master's specializations in Education, the examination is NOT open to graduates of other fields or specializations.
  • For master's programs organized in English/German, admission includes a compulsory or eliminatory language examination in English/German, graded with ADMITTED/REJECTED. Grades are recorded in a catalog containing the names and first names of the candidates, signed by the chair of the Faculty Admissions Committee, and stamped by the chair of the University Admissions Committee. An exception to this rule is made for graduates of bachelor's degree programs who have completed a full course of study in the language of the selected master's degree program. Language certificates approved by the Rectorate of the University may also be recognized for this examination.
