Instructions for Authors

Submissions

The LaTeX and pdf files of your paper should be submitted via electronic mail to Studia Mathematica: studia-m@cs.ubbcluj.ro or studia@math.ubbcluj.ro .

If you prefer, you should sent two single-sided copies of the manuscript to:

Such action is representation by the author that the manuscript has not been published or submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. A cover letter must indicate the author to whom correspondence should be sent. Complete addresses (including e-mail addresses) should be provided for all authors. If the Studia office does not acknowledge receipt of your submission within four weeks, please contact Studia Mathematica at studia-m@cs.ubbcluj.ro to verify its receipt.

The editor-in-chief has the exclusive right to assign papers to members of the editorial board. The editors reserve the right to reject any manuscript that is not completely legible or does not conform to the standards cited below. Authors should retain copies of all manuscripts, as Studia Mathematica will not return them after completion of the review process.

The papers will be typeset using the LaTeX 2e system

Studia provides a LaTeX macro package designed to make author-typeset articles conform to Studia style standards with a minimum of difficulty. Please use the provided studiam2 class together with the provided studim1 package, and see this formatting example. Take into consideration the following issues.

Title

Titles should be brief and appropriate for indexing and should specifically describe the content of the paper.

Abbreviated title

An abbreviated title, which will be used as a running head, must accompany all articles and must consist of no more than 50 characters (including spaces).

Abstract

An abstract not exceeding 250 words that summarizes the principal techniques and conclusions of the manuscript in relation to known results must accompany each manuscript. Mathematical formulas and bibliographic references should be kept to a minimum; bibliographic references must be written out in full.

Subject classifications

Mathematical subject classifications (MSC) have to accompany all articles.

Illustrations

All illustrations must be of professional quality with no handwritten elements. Studia will not redraw figures. Illustrations must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text.

References

References should be listed in alphabetical order at the end of the manuscript. The following reference styles should be used:

• Journal articles (titles of journals should be abbreviated in accordance with Mathematical Reviews):

• Books, pamphlets, research reports:

Citations within the text: A consistent style should be used, and the style of in-text citations should conform to the reference style chosen. To refer to a specific page or item in an article or book the following formats may be used: [2, p. 51]; Cormen [2, p. 51]; or Cormen (1990, p. 51).
