.8086            Enable 8086 Instructions                      MASM Directive

  .8086

    Enables the assembly of 8086 (8088) instructions, while disabling the
    assembly of instructions specific to the 80186 and 80286.

       Notes:     Place all Instruction set directives at the beginning of
                  the source file to insure that all instructions in the
                  file are assembled using the same instruction set.

                  If no instruction set directives are specified, .8086
                  and .8087 are used.
