Aims
Knowledge and use the actual Java platforms and technologies. To offer and / or develop the tools and frameworks, platform independents, for Java middleware use. To open new research directions in the topic.

• Lecture 4: Servlets and servlet containers [5 cap 7].
• Lecture 5: Servlet filters [9]
• Lecture 6: Special aspects about servlets: initialization, cookies, session object, forwards [1 cap 7].
• Lecture 7: Applet with servlet communications [7 cap 4]
• Lecture 8: Java server pages (JSP): introduction, default objects [5 cap 8].
• Lecture 9: JSP beans, custom tags design [2 cap 10].
• Lecture 10: Java Standard Tag Libraries (JSTL) [2 cap 14].

Assessment
The activity ends with a written final exam. During the semester, the students will have to prepare a theoretical report and a software project in the topic. Optionally, the students can design an illustrative example for a course concept.
Final grade consists from:
• Final writtenexam: 30%
• The quality of the project 30%
• Technical report : 25%
• A representativ example presentation : 15%
