Characterization of Distributed Systems. System models. Networking and Internetworking. Interprocess communication. Time and global states: Clocks, events and process states, Syncronizing physical clocks, Logical time and logical clocks, Global states. Coordination and agreement. Distributed transactions. Replication: System model and group communication, Fault-tolerant services, Transaction with replicated data.
