Calendar, required documents, and registration procedure for the master’s examinations in July 2023

This procedure is intended for students wishing to take the master’s exam in the July 2023 session.

  1. The similarity of the master’s thesis will be tested using Turnitin:
    • The group responsible will be contacted to receive access to the Turnitin software;
    • The similarity test of the master’s thesis will be conducted using Turnitin without applying any filter;
    • If the similarity index of 30% is exceeded for well-founded reasons (e.g. bibliography, own published article, etc.), the filters to be applied are determined together with the scientific coordinator and the similarity report is generated.
  2. Students shall ensure in good time that they have access to the https://www.cs.ubbcluj.ro/apps/lucrari platform and that the scientific coordinator’s name appears on the platform.
  3. By the June 15, 2023, at 18:00 p.m. the MA students will upload to the platform https://www.cs.ubbcluj.ro/apps/lucrari the following information:
    • the final version of the paper in PDF format, together with the abstract in English, integrated immediately after the title page;
    • a ZIP archive containing the application (if applicable) and Annex 5 (Declaration of Authenticity of the thesis);
  4. By June 23, 2023, 14:00 p.m., the scientific coordinators will give their approval; students whose master’s thesis has not received the approval of the coordinating teacher by this date/time will not be acceptedto register for the dissertation exam.
  5. Between June 25 1 a.m. – June 28 2023 4 p.m., students register to support the dissertation, by uploading the scanned documents at the address to https://inscrieri.ubbcluj.ro/ifs/. All the scanned documents need to be saved in PDF format (please merge all the files into a single PDF file with the name of the form “Last name Parent’s initial First Name.pdf” – ex. “POPESCU I. IOAN-VASILE.pdf” and upload this document in the “Request” field in the registration platform):
    • Birth certificate – scanned copy in pdf format;
    • Passport – for foreign citizens;
    • Bachelor’s degree diploma and transcript/supplement to diploma (for diplomas with transcript/supplement to diploma) or its equivalent;
    • Baccalaureate diploma and transcript (for diplomas accompanied by a transcript) or its equivalent – for graduates from universities other than UBB.
    • High school transcript – scanned copy in pdf format;
    • The document that allowed access to studies, in case of foreign citizens
    • Standard application form – after completion list, sign and send in pdf format;

    For older graduating classes, students are requested to submit the following documents with their application for the master’s exam (please merge all the files into a single PDF file with the name of the form “Last name Parent’s initial First Name.pdf” – ex. “POPESCU I. IOAN-VASILE.pdf” and upload this document in the “Request” field in the registration platform):

    • Birth certificate – scanned copy in pdf format.
    • Passport – for foreign citizens;
    • Bachelor’s degree diploma and transcript/supplement to diploma (for diplomas with transcript/supplement to diploma) or its equivalent;
    • Baccalaureate diploma and transcript (for diplomas accompanied by a transcript) or its equivalent – for graduates from universities other than UBB.
    • High school transcript – scanned copy in pdf format;
    • The document that allowed access to studies, in case of foreign citizens
    • Standard application form – after completion list, sign and send in pdf format;
    • Proof of payment of the fee for those who are at the third presentation to the dissertation exam or graduates of the classes 2020 and earlier (1500 RON);
  6. On June 30, 2023, information on the calendar of the master’s exam will be posted.
  7. During July 4-5, 2023, the master’s students attend the face-to-face presentation and defense of their dissertation.

NOTE: The Faculty Council reserves the right to make the calendar for conducting the master’s examination compatible with subsequent regulations that may occur.
