About the Project

The main focus of the project is to design and implement a modern UI/UX for an AR-powered app that leverages object recognition techniques in a production-specific environment using smart glasses. The detected object-related information (e.g. digital twin) is gathered and shared with the user using ROS and is visualized in an augmented manner by means of notifications using the popular Android ecosystem.

We are looking for up to 4 talented and fast learner students to join this cool project and kick start their career.

About You

You are passionate about UI/UX design and development and interested in augmented reality. Your educational background needs to be paired with discipline, critical thinking, problem ownership and drive to accomplish new and unconventional things. Good time management and a structured work style are also needed along with a nerdy passion to experiment with new gadgets.

Specifically, you will need competence / experience in the following areas:

• UI/UX (mocking, wireframing, front-end design and development)
• familiarity with Android 5+, experience developing apps with Android Studio, interaction with the camera and gyros
• Java and OOP

Nice-to-have knowledge / experience:

• development with the Unity game engine
• familiarity with OCR techniques
